The Volume 7: Golden Chains ebook is now live and for sale!

Backers who got the ebook, look out for an email from BackerKit with your discount coupon for 100% off.

I'm pretty sure I sent that correctly, but if it doesn't show up: you can also find the download info in your backer survey.

If you got multiple ebooks, all your coupons should be bundled together in the same email. Missing any? Comment and let me know.

If you spot any typos, duplicate/missing strips, or other issues in Volume 7, please let me know that too! The high-resolution files have not been sent to the printer yet -- there's still time to fix any issues before the paperbacks happen.

Most of the backer surveys are now locked.  If you got add-ons, or have international shipping to pay for, you'll be charged for that closer to when I'm ready to ship.

Addresses do not get locked until I'm full-on about to start printing package labels. Which is probably still a couple months out. So if your relocate in the meantime, you can put the new address in your survey.

I'm making steady progress on the ebook, it's just, we're deep into the parts that would be pretty boring to post about. Today I spent a lot of time on "adding footnotes" and "finalizing the TOC page numbers." Tomorrow's plan includes "entering metadata for the ISBN records." Riveting stuff.

First new piece of Leif & Thorn art I drew in 2025...was a redraw of the first strip with both Leif and Thorn in it, from 2015!

It'll be on the website later this month. but I wanted to give supporters (on both Patreon and BackerKit) the first look. (It's also going in the Volume 7 ebook, so consider this a teaser!)

I hope everyone is having a pleasant holiday season! Mine has been quiet and uneventful, which means I have comics progress to post.

1) All but two Early Bird sketches are finished.

One of you hasn't edited your survey to give me a prompt yet. Another asked for a character who isn't in the book.

Early backers, check the notes on the confirmation page of your survey! If your art is finished, I put the link there. If not, you'll see a note about why.

2) We met the post-campaign stretch goal!

...okay, technically the funding total on the Preorder Store is up to $4,405. So we didn't break the record from the last campaign, we exactly matched it.

I'm counting it anyway. (Still might break it! All we need is even 1 person, buying just $1 more, of anything.)

I already had a 180-page book file. To bring it up to 192, I'm adding back in some comics that got cut for space, writing up some new behind-the-scenes info...and including the art from the "Leif & Thorn is being made with AI now!" April Fool's jokes. (That's right, the robots have come for our "generating bonus material for books" jobs.)

3) Mini-print proofs are in.

As usual, they look better IRL than in my photos, but here's a photo anyway:



So they're approved! Check that off the to-do list, and now it's back to the books.

Backer surveys are 85% complete! Those of you who aren't caught up will be getting automated reminders from BackerKit to fill yours out.

First few Early Bird sketches are finished. I was able to get the question last-minute-added to all the early-backer surveys, and most of you have answered! If you open your survey and go to "Review", five of you will see an art link in the "Special Notes" section. (Everyone else, hang tight, I'm working on them.)

Mini-prints have been ordered. For both the campaign-exclusive "Storm Mage" print, and the new "Day On The Town" print you can add in the survey. I'll post the proofs when they arrive.

Post-campaign Total Funds are inching upward. You can see the total on the Volume 7 pop-up bookstore -- with the combination of shipping charges, survey add-ons, and extra preorders, we've hit $4,350.

Can we beat the Total Funds for Volume 6? That pop-up store is closed now, but the number when it ended was $4,405:


Just $56 more, and we'll top the previous record!

...and I will count that as fulfilling the More Book stretch goal, and we'll get that 192-page Volume 7 after all.

I'll need to finalize a page count before I release the ebook, but I can't finish the ebook either way until I have all the Early Bird sketches -- so basically, you're racing against me. Let's see who wins! (Hopefully everyone.)
